Bond, James Bond, is the mysterious and debonair character on “007” that oozes sensuality and mystic.
The dashing super agent is every woman’s fantasy and most men wish they could be him. Nothing seems capable of defeating this resilient spy of the British Empire, who has entertained billions for many decades.
Whether he is jumping through windows, driving fast cars, diving in the ocean, fighting spies or wooing some gorgeous woman, James Bond do these activities with little effort. We admire not only his physique and suave but also his fashion sense.
Omega and James Bond Watch Love Affair
The cool operator has collected many gadgets for his missions. We love the scenes that show the technological gadgets in the MI6 lair, especially the cars.
But, we mere mortals can only aspire for the more common items, such as one of the James Bond watches.
At least with this item, we are less likely to run afoul of the law, for any misadventure.
In “Skyfall,” he donned the Omega Seamaster James Bond watch. Omega made just over 5000 pieces of that version, the Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M and after that, he chose another Omega watch for “Spectre.”
The Omega Watch Debut
Daniel Craig was not the first to wear a James Bond Omega watch, in these flicks. Bond wore the Omega watches for eight of his flicks.
James Bond Wears Omega
They started appearing in 1995, when a gorgeous Pierce Brosnan wore the Omega Seamaster Professional 300, in “Golden Eye.”
Several of the Omega timepieces appear in the next four flicks. They provided expert resources on “Tomorrow Never Dies,” “The World Is Not Enough” and “Die Another Day.”
Daniel Craig Wears Omega
In 2006, Halle Berry was not the only standout rising from the depths of the ocean, so too were the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M and Seamaster Planet Ocean. Daniel Craig, the dashing newcomer, wore both watches in “Casino Royale.”
Omega even got its own shout out. There are those who consider this a product placement ,but Omega fans loved it.
Vesper Lynd was trying to prove she knew Bond well.
She asked, “Rolex?”
He replied “Omega.”
Lynd acknowledged, “Beautiful.”
That one word summed up our own impression of the charismatic Omega watch and yes, of its enigmatic owner.
In 2008, the trend continued.
Omega again supported the super agent when he traversed the murky depths of the ocean in his Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M. The sleek, airtight, water resistant timepiece proved its worth and garnered many new fans in “Quantum of Solace.”
The relationship between James Bond and Omega seems unbreakable, because they continued their stint in 2012s “Skyfall,” and 2015s “Spectre.” Though the Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M in “Skyfall” was custom designed with a titanium casing for this movie. It later sold at auction for less than 200,000 euros.
The Seamaster 300 Spectre and Seamaster Aqua Terra Omega James Bond watches were in the 2015 movie.
We look forward to seeing which Omega watch will make its debut in the next James Bond flick.
How Did Omega meet James Bond?
Thanks to Lindy Hemming, Omega was cast in the 1996 version of James Bond, “GoldenEye.” From that moment, the Omega watches have been the Bond franchise’s true undercover agent.
The costume designer, who is an Oscar winner commented, “I was convinced that Commander Bond, a naval man, a diver and a discreet gentleman of the world would wear the Seamaster with the blue dial.”
From that point on, Commander James Bond and Omega have been inseparable.
It is a good fit, don’t you think?
Because Bond is a former naval commander, it is logical that he would continually choose a Seamaster watch or any other Omega timepieces.
Do you remember that scene when Bond was at the gaming table in “Casino Royale” sporting a gorgeous Omega timepiece?
The Omega brand and the world’s favorite spy, James Bond, are both synonymous with adventure, fashion and dependability.
It is not just a matter of selling watches and intricate marketing hype. These timepieces proved their worth in daily activities. Professionals, such as pilots, navy soldiers, marine biologists depend on these Omega watches to be resilient. They all highly recommend the brand after experiencing its benefits for themselves.
For more than 20 years, Omega watches have proven their resilience in the James Bond movies.
They endured expeditions throughout the world. They were privy to the caresses of beautiful women and the harsh beatings of numerous henchmen. The Omega watch has withstood water pressures at great depth and endured even those in the vast skies above.
James Bond watches have emphasized the suave nature of the debonair spy and it will do the same for you.
Over 50 years ago, Ian Fleming cast his beloved character in a “heavy Rolex Oyster Perpetual on an expanding bracelet.”
However, today, James Bond is an Omega man.
